Privacy Policy
The short version: PauseSweep processes your videos and audio entirely on your Mac. Your files are never uploaded to us or anyone else. The app itself has no analytics, no tracking and no user accounts — the only things it ever sends over the network are a license check and an update check. The pausesweep.com website does use analytics, described below.
This policy explains what data the PauseSweep application and the pausesweep.com website handle. The data controller is Kir Dergachev, the developer of PauseSweep. You can reach us at hello@pausesweep.com.
1. Your media files
All analysis and export happen locally on your device using Apple’s AVFoundation frameworks. Your media files, and the content within them, never leave your Mac and are never transmitted to us or to any third party.
2. What the app stores on your device
The app keeps the following on your Mac only (in macOS preferences and the app’s Application Support folder). It is never sent to us:
- your settings (sensitivity preset, thresholds, save mode, preview toggle);
- a list of recently opened files;
- the date your free trial started;
- a running counter of how much time you’ve saved;
- your license key and activation details, once you activate a license.
The app may also ask macOS for permission to show a local notification when processing finishes. That notification is handled entirely by macOS on your device.
3. License activation
When you activate, validate or deactivate a license, the app contacts our licensing provider Freemius (api.freemius.com). For this purpose it sends:
- your license key;
- a random install identifier generated on your device — a random value that is not derived from your identity or hardware;
- your computer’s name (for example “Anna’s MacBook”), so you can recognise your activations.
This is used only to enforce the license (e.g. to count activations) and to retrieve its expiry status. It is not used for advertising or profiling. Freemius processes this data as our provider; see the Freemius Privacy Policy.
4. Update check
To let you know when a newer version is available, the app occasionally makes a plain web request for a small static file (version.json) on pausesweep.com. The app sends no personal data in this request. As with any web request, our hosting/CDN provider (Cloudflare) may log standard technical information such as your IP address, time and user agent. The app never installs updates automatically.
5. Buying a license on the website
When you buy a license, checkout is handled by Freemius, which acts as the merchant of record. Freemius collects the information needed to process the order, such as your name, email address and payment details, and processes payment through its own payment processors. We receive limited order and license information (such as your email and license status) to provide support and deliver your license. We never see or store your full payment-card details. 6. The website
The pausesweep.com website uses Yandex.Metrika, a web analytics service provided by Yandex, to understand how visitors use the site and to improve it. Metrika sets cookies and collects usage data such as the pages you view, clicks, the referring URL, approximate location, device and browser information, and your IP address. This data is processed by Yandex on our behalf — see the Yandex Privacy Policy. You can opt out via the Yandex.Metrika opt-out, or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser.
The site also loads the Freemius checkout script (only when you choose to buy) and web fonts from Google Fonts; loading Google Fonts causes your browser to request files from Google’s servers, which receives your IP address. Our hosting/CDN provider (Cloudflare) may keep standard server logs (IP address, time, user agent).
7. Children
PauseSweep is a general-purpose tool and is not directed to children under the age required by your local law. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
8. Your rights
Because the app stores almost everything locally on your device, you can delete that data at any time by removing the app’s data or the app itself. For data related to a purchase (held by Freemius on our behalf), you may request access, correction or deletion by contacting us at hello@pausesweep.com; we will forward such requests to Freemius where needed. We do not sell your personal data.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above when we do. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
